Daniel Thiele now supports our Account Management as a Team Lead. Together with Sebastian Keppelmayer, who has been Team Lead Account Management since April, he now heads the growing Account Management Team. Both report directly to Anna-Katharina Knarr, Head of Account Management.
2019 starts off successfully for trbo: With Telefónica and Ströer Digital Publishing we have won two prominent new customers. Both will use trbo’s onsite personalization platform in the future.
Not only Telefónica and Ströer, but also other companies rely on trbo. These include, for example, Bergzeit, DEPOT, Reisenthel and l’tur. In addition, we were able to double our turnover in the past fiscal year.
Last Friday the discount battle of the year started: Black Friday 2018. Together with Cyber Monday, German (and international) e-commerce shops once again broke several sales records. The German Retail Association predicted sales of 2.4 billion euros for the two discount holidays – an increase in sales of 15 percent compared to 2017. At the end of the big bargain hunt, one thing is for sure: Black Friday and Cyber Monday have not only paid off for bargain hunters, but also for shop operators.
This is backed up by our analysis. In 2017, the campaigns focused primarily on fashion and electronics suppliers. This year, we had customers from all possible industries participating in Black Friday. All in all, more shops took part in the big sale. Around Black Friday, for example, we played out 1,500 more promotions for our customers than in the previous week.

E-commerce in Germany is constantly growing. According to EHI and Statista, the top 1,000 online shops generated 42.8 billion euros in 2017 – an increase of 8.1 percent. Still, the largest revenues are generated by the largest players – smaller shops have more and more difficulties to establish themselves. In the end, only those using their collected data in a holistic way will win, leading to an exact knowledge of (potential) customers. Therefore, a personalized and targeted user approach across all devices is an absolute must for shop operators. This is where trbo comes in. Effective immediately, sales and start-up expert Benjamin Pantke will take over the position of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at trbo. He will be responsible for Business Development and Sales.
Finally, on September 12, the time had come again: the class reunion of the digital industry entered the next round – DMEXCO called.
As in the previous year, we again had our own booth – this time with an even larger area at the Webtrekk partner booth. A good decision, as we were unable to complain about the large number of visitors.
Apart from numerous appointments with customers and interested parties, some visitors spontaneously passed our booth. The summary: our customers are the best! Many thanks to everyone who visited us at DMEXCO!
Furthermore we had a special event at our booth this year: the dear employees of onlinemarketing.de visited us and shot a video on our DMEXCO appearance. You can admire the result on YouTube (german).
Our customer case video attracted many visitors who came to inform themselves about onsite personalization and optimization. Not only our give-aways but also our case studies and our brand-new whitepaper went away like hotcakes.

The end of the first day of the fair was ushered in with the booth party at our Webtrekk partner booth. We had lots of fun and great conversations with our customers and prospects. After the trade fair we headed to Bootshaus – to the now legendary OMR Aftershow. We celebrated until late into the night with Samy Deluxe, Oli P. and Gigi D’Agostino (or rather his double). After a pretty short night, we started the second day at the trade fair.
The second DMEXCO day drew a lot of visitors to the booth – felt like a bit more than in the past years on the second day. At night it was time to go home again.

We continue to grow: From now on Sebastian Keppelmayr will support our account management. By expanding our customer service, trbo is responding to the steadily growing number of new customers.
Compared to the previous year, trbo was able to double its sales in 2017. For 2018, our target again is a growth of more than 100 percent. New national and international customers, including FTI Touristik and the Hudson’s Bay Company, contributed to the sales success.
Effective immediately, trbo will be supported by four new employees. Alejandro Guizar will start as a Senior Account Manager, Marco Braun as an Account Manager and Ella Kunkel as a Trainee Sales and Account Management. Esther Schwan will be responsible for the newly created marketing department as a Marketing and Communications Manager. With these four new hires, the company, which specializes in intelligent purchasing incentives, is responding to the strong growth in customers and sales.
Alejandro Guizar will be responsible for trbo’s key accounts as a Senior Account Manager. The tracking specialist, who has been employed by intelliAd in account management since 2014 and has a certification for the Google Tag Manager, will contribute his extensive experience in the field of performance analyses to the team. Before that, he worked for Experteer in the performance marketing area.
With Marco Braun, trbo wins another account manager. As one of the first employees of the influencer marketing platform Reachbird, Braun has profound knowledge in account management, CRM and marketing. In response to the increased number of new customers at trbo, Braun will support the company in the future with customer support.
The sales team will be reinforced by Ella Kunkel. As a Trainee in Sales and Account Management, she will support trbo with lead qualification and pitch preparation. Kunkel gained her first practical experience as a working student at an online marketing agency in Augsburg.
As Marketing and; Communications Manager, Esther Schwan will be involved in setting up and expanding the marketing department. The main focus will be on case studies and whitepapers. She will also be responsible for the website and will provide support at trade fairs and events. In addition, she will be responsible for the marketing channels SEA and Social. Schwan previously gained experience in communication and fundraising at humedica e.V. The 29-year-old started her professional career at the Munich agency cocodibu, where she already worked for trbo.
“Due to the increased demand for personalised customer contact, trbo has grown strongly in recent months. We have also expanded our service portfolio in this context. With the help of the four new team members, we will be able to respond even more effectively to the individual demands and wishes of our customers in the future,” says Felix Schirl, Managing Director and CTO of trbo.
trbo expands its account management team with Sandra Mederer. She now manages the key accounts at trbo. Her tasks include operational support and strategic consulting for existing customers.
