The term Exit Intent describes the point at which a user threatens to jump off a website. This can be determined by using Exit Intent technology. Based on Java Script and various other criteria, the software is able to detect whether a user wants to leave the website in real-time by analyzing the user’s mouse movement. This allows the software to detect if the user is moving his mouse cursor in the direction of the address bar or the close icon and wants to close the website or tab.<\/span><\/p>\n

Modern exit intent technologies help prevent the user from leaving the website by displaying so-called exit intent layers. If the mouse pointer suddenly moves faster or approaches the address line of the browser or the close icon in the upper left corner, the Exit Intent Layer appears. This is placed directly over the page content of a website or displayed in the focus of the page to display a message to the visitor and thus trigger a specific action.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this case, the goal is to keep the potential customer on the page and, at best, to convince him to buy. With the Exit Intent procedure, the conversion<\/a> and click rate of the website can be further optimized and the bounce rate<\/a> oder shopping cart abandonment<\/a> can be reduced.<\/span><\/p>\n
