The CPC is used to determine the amount paid by the advertiser when billing per click (e.g. on an advertising medium).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">There are various models for the billing of advertising costs in online marketing, with the pay per click model being the most widespread. Advertising networks such as <a href=\"https:\/\/trbo.com\/en\/glossary\/google-ads\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Ads<\/a> and Google AdSense are prominent examples that predominantly use this form of billing for their services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The advertiser pays a certain, pre-determined amount for each click on a specific advertising medium such as a text link, video or banner. This is not a classic flat rate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The price per click depends on several factors:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Reach of the displayed page<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Type and placement of the advertising media used<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Industry<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Quantity of advertising media booked<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Keyword (for <a href=\"https:\/\/trbo.com\/en\/glossary\/search-engine-advertising\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SEA<\/a>)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">u.v.m.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Marketing takes place mainly in <a href=\"https:\/\/trbo.com\/en\/glossary\/affiliate-marketing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">affiliate<\/a>\u00a0and search engine marketing, as both are aimed primarily at increasing traffic based on placed advertising measures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">No general statement can be made about the costs of this form of billing, as these can range from cents to double-digit euro amounts. Depending on the placement or keyword, the prices differ enormously (especially in highly competitive industries).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The advantage of this billing model is that the advertiser only incurs costs once a user clicks on an advertising medium and actually shows interest in the offer. In addition, the billing method is very simple, since <a href=\"https:\/\/trbo.com\/en\/glossary\/tracking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tracking<\/a> tools such as <a href=\"https:\/\/trbo.com\/en\/glossary\/web-analytics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Analytics<\/a> make it very easy to measure clicks on an advertising medium.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A negative aspect, however, is the simple abuse of this method.
